#JESS MARIANO GIVES ME ALL OF THE FEELINGS #because he’s manipulative and screwed up and smart and cares more than he thinks he does #and i have so many feelings on how he and rory are two sides of the same coin #both raised by single parents - but rory has the loving mom and jess has the irresponsible one #rory is the one who has everything going for her but loses it all and drops out of school #and jess has everyone telling him that he’ll be nothing but has a book published by the time he’s 22 #and it would have been SO BEAUTIFUL to watch these two mirrored stories finally diverge #when they are both mature enough for each other and for their relationship #which is (i think) an inherently important and mature relationship in a way that dean-rory and logan-rory never were #unfortunately all of this happened off screen #in my head #but it DID happen

22 Days of Literati | Day 4 - Favorite Season 4 or 6 moment

Rory: You know what I’m gonna do when I see it in the store?
Jess: What?
Rory: You know that section toward the front, the staff recommendations? I’m gonna grab a copy of your book and put it in that section, and then I’m going to write my own little recommendation on a card and attach it so people see it and buy it.
Jess: Read it first. That way you can discourage people from buying it.
Rory: No way! I know it’s good. Jess, you’ve got such a great brain. I knew that if you could just sit down and stop shaking it around, you could do something like this. I knew it. I knew it.
Jess: I know you did.

This scene. First of all: they are nervous. NERVOUS. They have been such a huge part of each other’s lives and they haved loved each other but haven’t spoken in two years and here they are, all grown-up and it’s their first meeting since their story ended (on not such a great note) and they’re nervous. Of course they are. It reminds me of that scene in 3.08 when they’re in Luke’s apartment and they don’t know how to act around each other. And he wrote a book and you can tell she’s proud and impressed and that he’s grateful and that he obviously still loves her. WHY ARE YOU SO PERFECT.
