  • The most interesting thing I had today was my European Storytelling class
  • Although I was side-eying my professor because she was complaining about how over-the-top and unrealistic it was for Harry to be so abused at the Dursleys
  • And IDK…what a weird thing to rant about in a lecture about fairytales and myths
  • Also we sort of sidetracked into problems with Disney movies
  • Also I’m not entirely sure what to think of my professor so far
  • I brought up Jim Crow and the rest of the crows in Dumbo and she didn’t find it all that offensive??????????????
  • Or some of the lyrics in Aladdin or the fact that everyone who is “good” is fair-skinned with non-Arab features?
  • And I had a lot of problems with the things she was saying about female roles…
  • WE’LL SEE HOW THIS GOES
  • The first 30 minutes of shopping I did (I needed some lined boots and another sweater and maybe pants) were fun and then I remembered how much it sucks to go shopping when you’re wearing a bunch of clothes
  • Also is Zara just cheaper here or is that my imagination?  I don’t think I’ve ever bought anything from there before in the US because usually everything in my price range is ugly/basic/boring.

“There’s nothing wrong with being happy. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying something so much that it strips away all that irony and cynicism. And there’s nothing wrong with loving anything so much that it feels like it could pull your heart out of your chest and toss it on the floor. We build ourselves up to not do that, and then we build up the armor so thickly that we have trouble finding what’s underneath. We use that as an excuse to lash out at people who do feel stuff, who do like things (and I am, of course, mostly saying this about myself). It’s hard sometimes to remember that the world isn’t a place to glide through, so nothing can touch you. It’s a place to be experienced.” — Todd VanDerWerff  (via monkeyknifefight)

I was here today!
…Sadly, my phone died before the team got out of the bus.  And we left before they went inside because we had been out there standing for over an hour and it was freezing.

if you are wondering if I am cold here in Denmark

I am wearing (essentially) two pants and a turtleneck underneath a pullover and I had a scarf on (indoors) most of the day and I always have wool socks or slippers on

does that answer your question
